All contributors of this wiki are PhD students in Rhetoric and Composition at The University of Texas at El Paso.
Lucia Dura has an MA in Rhetoric and Writing Studies from UTEP and a BA in English and Communication Arts from St. Mary's University. Lucia chose rhetoric and writing studies as a career path where creativity can is used to create social change. Her academic interests are in public administration and space/design theory, and her lenses tend to be social enterprise, women's studies, border studies, and postmodern theory. She is PhD program coordinator and an assistant instructor for the English department at UTEP and is involved with a non-profit organization and a foundation in local and national projects.
Hector Carbajal - earned a BA in English at New Mexico State University and MA in Borderlands History at UTEP. He is currently at work on an article about Mexican politician/philosopher Jose Vasconcelos. He loves L.A. and downtown "El Chuco" and always wanted to become a break dancer when growing up during the 80s. He listens to rock (en espanol), "las oldies but goodies," new wave, techno/electronica, Mexican boleros/corridos, and freestyle music. Visit his blog: Rhetoric and Memory
Brian McNely - Currently a doctoral student in Rhetoric and Writing Studies at the University of Texas at El Paso, McNely received his MA in English and American Literature from UTEP, and his BA in Anthropology and English from the University of Oregon. His research interests include postmodern rhetorical theory, spatial rhetorics, and business and technical communication. Most of the time, he tries to combine all three.
Cristina D. Ramirez - A Ph.D. candidate in the Rhetoric and Writing Studies at the University of Texas at El Paso. She completed her MA also at the University of Texas at El Paso specializing in teaching English in the secondary schools. As well, her undergraduate degree was completed at the University of Texas at El Paso in Literature with a minor in Spanish and Education. Her research interests include studies abroad in recovery of rhetorical voices, especially women rhetors from Mexico during the time period of 1876-1940.
Robert Tinajero - A doctoral student in Rhetoric and Composition at UT-El Paso, Tinajero holds a Masters in Theological Studies from SMU and an MFA in poetry from the Univ. of Houston. Tinajero was born and raised in El Paso, Texas, and his dissertation will focus on Hip Hop Rhetoric. His favorite rap artists are Tupac, Eminem, Lil' Wayne, Dead Prez, Cypress Hill, and South Park Mexican. His other academic interests include Race Critical Theory and Technical Writing.
